Alternative Fuels in NYC: DIY Biodiesel

Alternative Fuels in NYC: DIY Biodiesel

In an effort to show New Yorkers the many innovative ways to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, while improving air quality, the Lower East Side Ecology Center is collaborating with the School of the Future, Automotive High School, Alpha One Labs, and the owner of Rice restaurants to teach you all you need to know about creating fuel from used cooking oil!

Join us in the first of a series of workshops designed to recycle, while creating energy!  We will open up the discussion with an introduction about climate change, air pollution and water pollution in NYC and then  learn together how to use & retrofit an existing generator to run on used cooking oil. Join us if your an expert, amateur or just want to watch!

For more information on how you can recycle your used cooking oil, see the Lower East Side Ecology Center’s Go Green Cooking Oil Recycling Program.
