Computational Theory Kickoff

Computational Theory Kickoff

Alpha One Labs is pleased to announce the kickoff meeting for our Computational Theory Discussion Group. Please join us at 65 Maspeth Ave, #1A, Brooklyn, near the Graham Ave L, at 4pm on Saturday, January 30. (Add to Google Calendar)

At this kickoff meeting, we’ll be discussing such questions as:

  • Will we be reading Sipser’s Introduction to Computational Theory, or another book? (See this earlier post for other ideas.) If so, will we use the “International Edition”?
  • Will we be meeting Saturdays, 4pm-7pm?
  • How intensive will the meetings be? Will there be – gasp! – homework?

If you can’t make the kickoff but would still like to participate, please email Nada (nada at alphaonelabs.com). The kickoff will allow us to get to know each other and finalize our decisions. The first meeting will be post-Shmoocon, either Saturday February 13th or February 20th, allowing everyone time to get the book and start leafing through it.

The event is sponsored by Alpha One, but you don’t need to be a member to participate. (There is a $5 suggested donation for non-members, to help cover the costs of the space.) However, if you’re interested in this study group, it’s a safe bet that you might also be interested in a membership.
