The group is geared towards the technically inclined and those familiar with the SDK but anyone is welcome. We’ll just meet up and share some tips and tricks. This is NOT one of those $1500 training events, instead we’re just a bunch of brooklyners who want to meet other developers in the area on a regular basis. Find your coding buddy or partner, learn some tricks, get out of your apartment, watch some neat demos, and much more.

Dips & Appetizers

• Small Cheese Pies – Small savoury pies of feta, scallions, mint, fennel leaves, eggs and pepper, all wrapped in homemade filo and baked. Served warm or at room temperature.
• Htipiti (Roasted Pepper & Feta Spread) – A traditional spread of pureed roasted red peppers, pickled peppers, feta, onion, oregano, spices, fresh herbs and lemon zest.

Vegetarian

• Vegetable Stew – A delicious, olive oil rich stew of eggplant, onions, zucchini, green beans and tomatoes, scented with garlic and served warm or at room temperature.
• Grape Leaves Stuffed with Pumpkin & Rice – A delicious and different traditional dolmathes. Shredded squash tossed with sautéed red onions, rice, mint, parsley. Served either hot or at room temperature.

Meat

• Porkbelly in Ouzo – A delicious marriage of pork and aniseed. Pork marinated in ouzo, honey, orange juice, muscavado sugar and spices. Then pan-fried and finished in the oven.
• Pan Roasted Chicken with Lemon Potatoes – Chicken brined then marinated in garlic, herbs and wine, then pan-roasted and served with pan-fried lemon slices, potato, and red peppers, and herbs. Comes with a lemon-garlic sauce.

Salad

• Ultimate Greek Salad – Grilled onion rings tossed with slivered fennel, roasted red pepper, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, scallions, red onion, pickled peppers, feta, caperberries, kalamata and green olives, herbs and a red wine & feta vinaigrette.

Sides

• Spinach Rice – Rice tossed with butter, lemon juice, scallions, shallots and wilted spinach.

Join us in the first of a series of workshops designed to recycle, while creating energy!  We will open up the discussion with an introduction about climate change, air pollution and water pollution in NYC and then  learn together how to use & retrofit an existing generator to run on used cooking oil. The objective of this workshop is to familiarize its participants with a broad set of tools and techniques side by side with an historical perspective of technology, media and visual arts and a strong emphasis on interface design.

Participants will be challenged to analyze their media performance activities in order to build their own hardware and software interfaces tools for VJ’ing, interactive installations and multimedia shows re-using off-the-shelf products and Isadora programming environment.

Participants are invited to bring their own computers and midi-controllers to disassemble (at their own responsibility). By the end of the workshop all participants are invited to participate by performing with their new prototypes in a demo party!

Isadora environment, introduction to modular programming;
