Who does the laser engraving at alpha one labs? Does the individual get paid for his/her time or split the profits with Alpha One?

They get paid and then the profit is spit between Alpha One Labs and the contributors who helped purchase it.

Hi! I’d like to send you my files, but I wonder if you might have a suggestion or two for my project. What I’d like to do is print out photographs onto high quality paper then use the laser to cut them out (like paper dolls). I know how to cut them out in photoshop and trace them in Illustrator, but I don’t know how to register the printed photo so that the laser cuts it out precisely. Do you have any suggestions?

As long as the printed file and the outline vector file are the same registration should be close. But I learned not to trust it entirely. In the print file and vector file I would add three registration marks. (I normally just draw small circles with an X through them) The laser cutters pointer can then be used to align it with “laser” precision.
