RepRap Master Class

RepRap Master Class

Build a RepRap self-replicating 3D-printer!

Masterclasses normally run for up to ten individuals or small groups.  Groups can consist of two or three people.  Each individual or group will, over the space of two days, build, commission, and start 3D-printing with a Prusa Mendel RepRap self-replicating 3D printer.  Tutors will be constantly on hand to guide you and to help.
The RepRap 3D-printers that you build will be yours (or your company’s) to keep, along with a starting supply of printing plastic.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included for both days.

Requirements

Owing to the practical nature of the course and time constraints over the weekend, participants will be required to possess at least the following skills:

- Basic soldering (SMD soldering skills not required)

- Basic mechanical assembly (use of wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen keys and measurement tools)

- Basic electrical skills to enable the participants to wire the machine and test for continuity/short circuits (multimeter proficiency)

We ask that participants provide their own tools, consisting at least the following:

- Screwdrivers

- Metric wrenches (M3, M4 and 2xM8 at the very least)

- Metric Allen keys

- Soldering iron, solder

- Digital Multimeter

As well as a Laptop computer running either Linux, Windows or Mac OS (if you run anything else you’re expected to be able to follow and adapt instructions geared towards one of the aforementioned).

Terms & Conditions:

The organisers, together with the instructor team will endeavour to ensure all RepRap 3D printers are fully functional by the end of the Masterclass, but not every eventuality can be foreseen and as such no guarantee can be made that all machines will indeed be fully functional by the end of the Masterclass.

Just like any other mechanical assembly task, the assembly and commissioning of a RepRap 3D printer presents certain (very minor) risks of injury, and participants will be required to take responsibility for managing these.

Course details are subject to change, but all participants will be notified.
