We love the DIY appeal. Our Ponoko RepRap is currently being repaired and we’re preparing to print out 2 Mendels by the end of the year. After looking around for a RepRap meetup in NYC we did not find any, so we decided to start one! Join us every 3rd Sunday of the month at 2pm as we meet at Alpha One Labs to discuss and build our RepRaps. Signup to the google group here for more information:

Yesterday famulus stopped by with pretty much a full Ponoko RepRap. There are a few broken and missing pieces, but otherwise we’re going to try and get this thing working. We’ll also be building out our 2 twin Mendel RepRap 3d printers hopefully. With the combination of this and the mill we’ll be getting soon, we’ll be able to mill / print all the parts needed. Here is a picture of the parts hanging on our wall.
